Our friendly and supportive creative writing group meets the fourth Thursday of the month.

This session will be faciliated by our Learning Co-ordinator, Angela. A range of everyday Victorian objects will provide a focus for inspiration.

There will also be an informal discussion about an anthology of work being produced by the writers.

£1, drop in (Usual house admission applies).

Please note - this session will be taking place in the Nightingdale Room, it will return to the Seminar Room in May.

This 4 week course will explore how Fashion, Textiles, Art and the attitudes of society evolved during the nineteenth century, examining both working class and middle class dress.

We are delighted to welcome Claire Mooney to the House for an evening of original live music. Claire was Musical Director for the brilliant, ‘Gaskell the Musical’, performed at Elizabeth Gaskell’s House. She wrote the Gaskell anthem 'Let the Women Rise' – and this performance will include an exclusive acoustic version of this.
