Online Workshop: Female Lines – Jane Austen

A repeat of our sell-out workshop about Jane Austen with facilitator Sherry Ashworth. Join us for a fresh approach to the classic women writers you know and love. Explore the life and times of Jane Austen, blockbuster novelist of the 19th century, famous for her social observation. Under Sherry’s expert guidance you can uncover the threads running through her work and consider how they may appear in the work of Elizabeth Gaskell – a ground-breaking writer who crossed genres.

Grab your ticket and join the session for a fun and informative closer look at the texts and context of Jane Austen.

The session is suitable for the general reader who wants to delve deeper into 19th century writing. Readers will be encouraged to discuss works during the Zoom sessions and numbers limited to allow an inclusive discussion with chance for all to take part. Please note there are some short reading materials provided before the session to help aid discussion.

“Loved this course and previous courses by Sherry. Uplifting, informative and has introduced me to some great books that I may not have otherwise read. This has been one of the highlights of each month.” Visitor to online events
