Friends Event: A Recital by the Emmeline String Quartet at Elizabeth Gaskell’s House

The Emmeline String Quartet are a Manchester-based String Quartet, named after the city’s famous suffragette, Emmeline Pankhurst.  The group were formed at the Royal Northern College of Music in 2018. Pavel Fischer, Tutor of Violin and Chamber Music at the RNCM had this to say about them:

 “They are all exceptionally talented and one of the most promising young groups around “


The quartet has performed in multiple prestigious venues, including the Wigmore Hall, Royal Albert Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Cadogan Hall, Royal Festival Hall, and the Bridgewater Hall. 

As an added treat on the night, Elizabeth’s recently restored bedroom will be open, for Friends who have not yet seen it.

Doors open at 6pm. Performance 6.30pm to 8.00pm with an interval. 

Tickets £16 50 to include cheese and wine in the interval. 

This event is organised by The Friends of Elizabeth Gaskell’s House – all proceeds from the performance will go towards the upkeep of the House. 

Elizabeth Gaskell’s House is run by Manchester Historic Buildings Trust (charity no. 1080606) and all money gained through private tours, talks, room hire and ticket sales goes towards the ongoing maintenance and running costs of the house.
