Elizabeth Gaskell’s House is proud to be family friendly historic house and museum.
Families will find many ways to be entertained with: dressing up, activity baskets, family trails led by Cranford the Cat and family craft activities during school holidays.
Take a seat and DO touch!

Very few objects are out of bounds and there’s always a seat to rest weary legs.
Follow Cranford the Cat through the House with games and puzzles along the way.

Don’t miss the chance to dress up as a Victorian lady or gentleman complete with top hat or bonnet!
Outside families can explore the garden by scanning the QR codes to learn fun facts and to get ideas they can try at home.

During the school holidays we have a craft or writing activity in the Servants’ Hall. See our Whats On page for details
And during the summer holidays we have Victorian style games on the lawn and invite families to picnic in the garden.
