Creative Writing Workshop: Poetry
*** Sorry this session has sold out. Spaces still available on other months ***
Be inspired by the history of Elizabeth Gaskell’s House, and write some original poetry based on your engagement with the objects and information displayed in our exhibition, Household Commotion. In this two-hour evening workshop, we will look at existing poetry before writing our own, inspired by a close inspection of the lives, the household tools and the everyday experiences of the House’s below-stairs occupants.
The workshop is one of a series of five evening sessions, inspired by the lives of the servants in the Gaskell household. You will have the chance to work on a piece of your own poetry and, if you wish, share it for feedback with the group.
Other workshops in the course will be:
March 27: Experimental Writing
April 24: Character Sketch/ Monologue (I)
May 22: Monologue (II)
7pm - 9pm
