CANCELLED: Mother’s Day At Elizabeth Gaskell’s House: Mother’s Day Readings

***Following the Government’s advice to avoid all non-essential contact we have taken the decision to close Elizabeth Gaskell’s House from Tuesday 17 March until Monday 6 April, when we will review the situation.***

Elizabeth Gaskell’s experience as a mother informed much of her writing. Join our House volunteers for a delightful Mothering Sunday selection of readings about mothers from Elizabeth’s letters, stories and novels.

Enjoy tea, coffee and delicious cake in our tea room, explore the beautifully-restored house and gardens, create some marvellous memories and make a lovely Mother’s Day of it!

Lunch-time talks and readings are included in usual House entry

No booking required, but please make sure you arrive in good time to get a seat.

For more talks, see our full programme
