The Muppet Christmas Carol & Family Crafts

*** Sorry this event has sold out. You can still visit the House and take part in the craft activity but there are no more tickets for the film showing. If you would like to be added to a waiting list for any cancellations please email Rachel@elizabethgaskellhouse.co.uk ***

Ho! Ho! Ho! Get into the Christmas spirit at Elizabeth Gaskell’s House as we enjoy a festive screening of family favourite The Muppet Christmas Carol, based on Charles Dickens’ classic Christmas story.

Cosy up to watch the film, then join us for family Christmas crafts. Inspired by our exhibition on John Ruskin, and his focus on using natural materials, we’ll be making miniature Christmas trees from pine cones.

Don’t forget to enjoy our mince pies and mulled wine, fresh from the Tea Room too! There’s a chance to stock up on some rather lovely last-minute Christmas gifts in our shop too. Merry Christmas one and all!

Our workshop is part of the city-wide Ruskin in Manchester, celebrating the legacy of John Ruskin (1819-1900) in Manchester, in the year that marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of this visionary thinker, with a programme of public events taking place in 2019.

Ruskin In Manchester is supported by the Guild of St George (the education charity founded by Ruskin in 1871) and Manchester Metropolitan University.
