Online Talk: Changing Rooms – Restoring Elizabeth Gaskell’s Bedroom
A special look behind the scenes at the restoration of Elizabeth Gaskell’s bedroom back to its former glory. Join Jane Baxter to discover how Elizabeth’s bedroom was recreated taking inspiration from letters and novels and using historical evidence for the transformation, from room layout to Victorian chintz patterns and favourite styles. This intriguing talk explores the process of restoration and how the team showcased something of the private life of the woman behind classic novels such as North and South.
The talk will be approx 45 mins long, with time for a short question session afterwards
