Reading The Nineteenth-Century Online: Hester

Join Sherry Ashworth for the latest in our perennially popular reading course – now online – to explore depictions of motherhood in the nineteenth-century novel.

In this session we’ll be exploring Margaret Oliphant’s Hester.

Grab your book and hunker down for some spring-time reading, and then join the session for a fun and informative closer look at the text and the context the novel.

Readers will be encouraged to discuss the books during the Zoom sessions, under Sherry’s expert guidance, and numbers will be limited to allow an inclusive discussion with chance for all to take part. The course is suitable for the general reader who wants to delve deeper into reading the nineteenth-century. You can come to one or more of the sessions, to suit your interests.
