Second-Hand Book Sale

**** Buy one get one free on all non-fiction during October****

Named as “Manchester’s best second-hand book sale” by one of our visitors,  the Elizabeth Gaskell’s House second-hand book sale is a ‘must visit’ for book lovers.

Two rooms packed full of second-hand books of all genres, including a wide variety of contemporary fiction, art, gardening, photography, classics, OS maps, biographies, history, cookery, social history and children’s! With new stock every month there are treasures to be found. Prices from £1 for a paperback.

Included in admission to the House (tickets valid for 12 months) and accessed at the end of the House visit.

Social distancing measures are in place and  pre-booking is essential and we ask that everyone continues to wear face masks to help keep our volunteers, visitors and staff safe..

All money raised from the sales of books goes towards running costs and ensuring the House stays open to the public.

The House accepts donations of fiction including poetry and plays (sorry we cannot accept large quantities non-fiction books at the moment due to a shortage of storage space).  Please call in advance on 0161 273 2215 if you have a large donation of books you would like to make.
