This year for the first time we have been selling Florence Nightingale (one of Elizabeth’s good friends and correspondents) and Suffragette (in anticipation of the 100 year anniversary in 2018) Christmas tree decorations from our Tea Toom and shop. Some of our volunteers and visitors have been sharing photos of their decorations on their Christmas tree – which we thought we would share with you.

We know there are plenty of other literary themed decorations and characters on sale at other historic houses and museums across the country. (FYI – The John Rylands Library in Manchester has a great selection in their shop). So if you want to share a a photo of your literary themed Christmas tree then please do – tag us on @GaskellsHouse

Next year we hope to have Elizabeth Gaskell Christmas tree decorations on sale so keep a look out!
